She has over 20 years’experience in supporting SMEs access to investment, both in the UK and internationally. Jenny co-founded Angel Capital Group and was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List 2015 for services to small businesses. She is UK’s top expert on angel investing.

Types of Funding

Jenny takes about the differences between around funding, angel investing and venture capital investment.   In the hour long video here is interesting advice on initial funding through to scaling up for a 2nd and 3rd round (tranche) of funding as the startup business grows.

She also covers the potential gap as businesses outgrow angel funding and move to venture capital funding.

An interesting statistic is that out of every 1,000 business plans business angels read they only invest in around 20 businesses – less than 2%.

She also takes about finding the right money and not just taking the first offer.
